My Principle For Coming Up With Viral Ideas

Every single post I created that went viral stems from this principle.

Hello!

Today, I want to share with you my most important principle for coming up with content ideas.

Every single post I created that went viral stems from this principle.

And once you understand it, it will become clearer how to create content that helps you grow authoritatively on the platform.

The Algo Rewards Timely Content

At any given time, there is a particular topic that everyone wants to hear about.

It could be AI, it could be ChatGPT, a new midjourney feature, or whatever.

You will easily recognize it when you open your feed and it seems like this is all people are talking about.

And this is exactly what you need to be doing.

However, we want to create an audience based on our expertise, not on clickbait or topics we know little about.

You don't want to discuss new topics aimlessly and without providing value to your audience.

Otherwise, you won't have much to say, and your audience will soon realize that you are just trying to talk about what's trendy.

And believe me, baiting won't take you far when you start promoting your offers.

Lean Onto Your Strenghts

So, the key here is to leverage your existing skills and strengths.

Ideally, you should approach this new topic in a way that utilizes your skills and presents a fresh perspective that people haven't heard yet about this timely topic.

Maybe you are already well versed in copywriting and you know how to craft high converting sales pages...

Or maybe you are already well versed in graphic design and have a pretty solid expertise on how to create user interfaces...

Or who knows, maybe you are a personal trainer and knows how to change people's lives by giving them nutrition tips.

Whatever is your expertise, lean onto it.

Solve Timeless Problems With Timely Tools

So, by combining both of these rule of thumbs I have for creating ideas, I came up with this easy to memorize principle.

"Solve timeless problems with timely tools"

Let me explain what I mean.

1. Solving timeless problems

It's a big cliche in marketing that people always want to make more money, have better relationships, and be healthier.

Not surprisingly, the three biggest and ever-existing niches are health, wealth, and relationships.

Make no mistake.

The AI niche will eventually lose its trendiness, just like the crypto niche did.

Another trend will inevitably take its place, and then it will fade and give way to something else. It's just the nature of the internet, things are constantly evolving.

Yet, three niches - health, wealth, and relationships - will never fade. They have been around as long as humans have existed and will continue to.

  • Businesses will always want to make more money

  • Men and women will always be searching for love;

  • People will always want to live healthier and better versions of themselves;

How can you help them do that?

This is what I mean by "Solving timely problems"...

2. Using Timely Tools

You want to talk about new and better ways of using whatever topic is trendy to solve these timeless problems.

For example, if a new tool has just been launched and is getting a lot of attention, talk about it.

As of right now everyone talking about GPT-4 vision and it's all you see in the feed...

Think of ways on how it can help you make better landing pages, or how it can help you make better UIs for your apps, or whatever deep pain problem your audience tends to face.

Me personally, I came up in a time were ChatGPT was still fairly new and not many people knew how to create decent prompts.

So, leaning onto my already-existing programing skills, I create content that solved this very problem.

Then, I realized not many people knew how to create original engaging content using ChatGPT...

And since I already had a good understanding of copywriting, I used these skills to create a solid workflow for people to create long-form content in as little as 20 minutes.

Chances are, you already have skills in a certain area.

Don't underestimate them. Lean on them and start using AI (or whatever topic is trendy right now) to solve your audience's timeless problems.

An Idea Worth Testing

If a particular idea fits into this principle, it's an idea worth testing...

Every single time I went viral was by abiding to this principle.

You won't go viral everytime, of course. But the hit-rate is way higher than if you were just winging it.

This ensures you are always on the cutting-edge of your field and makes competition almost irrelevant.

So always keep this principle in mind: "Solve Timeless Problems WIth Timely Tools"
